In Germany the Schrebergårten provides a means to free body and mind from the strains of urban life. The woman in the work –Wie ich meine Fluchtwege organisiere, Organising my Means of Escape -inherited this Schrebergårten from her parents. It was close to her very small apartment on the fourth floor of a tenement building and represented a freedom from the constrained determinants of modern life. The interrelation of photographs and text suggest associations and how, while the garden is bound by the rules and conventions of the other garden owners she still creates her own escape within it.
