Positive Feedback - Multiple Clothing, 1993
'The omnidirectional possibilities of the visual letter, when taken as a discrete element that can be built up into words to express what you want, is central to the idea of the creative involvement of people with Positive Feedback. Two large squares of felt on the front and back of Positive Feedback form contexts for yourself, or people you meet, to build up words that express something about how you feel, or of their response to meeting you. Each letter square has a velcro backing so that they can be easily fixed in place and continually changed to form fresh texts as you meet more people. The pad at the back of Positive Feedback ensures that you involve other people in building up texts. Positive Feedback fundamentally alters your relationship with anyone you invite to make a text, for as an open exchange, it has an element of trust because you cannot see what is happening on the pad behind you.'
