Around the Network, 2002
Around the Network, reflects the way networks of exchange have externalized into our everyday lives. Our relationships are not formal, set in stone, but are informal configurations, constantly changing shape according to needs and events.
Around the Network, shows a random group of people with varying facial expressions photographed as they walk and talk into their mobiles. The viewer is drawn into filling in the stories, completing what is missing, trying to create an explanation, agreeing or disagreeing with the suggestions provided on the work, reviewing how much we instantaneously perceive and read into the faces of people we pass on the street.
